Part of our aim as a charity is to promote knowledge of cat care, and responsible ownership. A good way to do this is to visit schools in our area and give talks which are always interactive and good fun for the children, as part of the PHSE aspect of the curriculum. We are also more than happy for Brownies/Scout groups etc to come out and visit us and take a tour. Please give us a call if you are interested in this and we'll arrange to come out, or for you to come to Axhayes.
CCA's Christe and Di went to Blundell's Pre-Prep School in Tiverton (April 2013) as part of their project on pets. We did a short interactive talk with a power-point display. Then we showed them a video of one of our rescued cats which we nursed back to health and rehomed. We all enjoyed the day and when we left the children got a goodie bag each and a class certificate.

When Newton Poppleford School came to us for a tour, we showed them round the Centre, explaining what Cats Protection do; and the children met two of our cats and wrote their pen label stories for them! Then there was a question and answer session, and a cat quiz to take home, and every child got a Cats Protection goody bag! All the children had a great day, learned a lot and sent us a lovely card, and we really enjoyed it!
Here we are with Christow Brownies. Everyone enjoyed the evening and the quiz, and received a goodie bag and a certificate.
